Let Me Go

I feel like a bird
trapped in a cage.
Needing to be set free.
Desire lifts me
and makes me cry out,
"Let me go!
I need freedom!"
But there's only silence
because I'm not heard.

I need to be released.
I can't remain trapped forever.
How am I to get used to the freedom of the future,
if I'm not given a chance.
"Let me go!
I need freedom!"
I continue to cry out.
Someday,
I will break free.
But I will need help.
